I currently have 900 uk domains in my 123-reg account.

Finally had enough of their customer services support.

I'm looking for an alternative provider.
Please could you suggest?

Thanks
Simon

With that many your own tag may be appropriate
or try Heart internet they're pretty slick

I went through the same thing with 123-reg a year or so ago! Moved all mine to daily.co.uk - never had any problems since.

Thanks Between Daily and Heart?

Which site has the best control panel for managing the domains?

Can't comment about daily but heart's is easy to use & fully featured. You also get plenty of email reminders about renewals & have a 'renewals panel' where you can select those you want to keep/let lapse.

With 900 names mate it's a no brainer to get your own tag and membership imo.

Nom's web manager is pretty dam good and will do everything you need instantly.

Thanks guys

I don't know anything about getting my own tag.

If I apply, can I buy domains through nominet and set forwarding and nameservers?

Nameservers, Yes. Forwarding, No.

I'll have a look at both providers, need to find an easy transfer process.

Can 123 reg retag 900 domains on bulk?

You will be better of paying £10 + VAT and doing it directly with nominet.

Defiantly worth getting your own tag and becoming a member.

They have in the past for one of my clients (not quite 900 but quite a few) but to be honest I wouldn't take the chance. Any mistake will take them a long time to sort. Id just pay the £10+vat.

Thanks guys, very helpful.
I'll look into becoming a member, but I do need to forward some domains.

I work for a registrar in the midlands they have a reseller platform which you may be interested in.

If you wish send me over your details and I'll see what they can offer you.

can you do bulk dns changes with heart?
obviously you can with your own tag/nominet yes?

Livetodot.com

Hi Guys,

Just thought I would mention our service livetodot.com as an alternative worth a look we used to just do .it domains and have been operating since 2000 but we have now branched out to .co.uk and gtld's too at very low overall prices and with free phone support during business hours.

Glad you have seen the light :)

Get your own TAG/Membership 100%. Nominets online control panel has come on leaps and bounds and its pretty easy to use too... The only thing you're unable to do at this moment in time is web forwarding, yet this is easily resolved as you can still change the name servers via nom's CPanel to point to your webhost and control everything from there :)

If you don't go down the TAG / Membership route I'd suggest Daily.co.uk

and in regards to bulk transferring your names out, I agree with Ben, pay the £10+ otherwise you'll go through a serious headache.

Good luck chuck.

I'd also vouch for Daily.co.uk. Moved from 123-Reg and never looked back although I am thinking about getting our own TAG.
