hmmmm just noticed that 14bet the dot net version was registered on the 17th of this month ......

How much money would you be happy selling it for?

That is how much I would counter with :p

Alternatively if you're happy selling for $1000 go for it.

Hi Murry , sadly i am a yorkshire man , my motto is as much as possible !!! i was thinking of countering at 6000 and see how it went from there... i am have been googling and the .net was registered via ename.net , which based on there website is chinese / japanese , but not much more info at present.

I have owned the domain name for some years now and based on the domain names company use these days , it is fairly short , sweet and to the point in just 5 characters...i am not in need of the funds...but also dont want to miss a potential selling oppurtunity

If you don't need the $1000 then yes counter to what you feel like. Simple. :)

An end user who makes contact first is nearly always going in with the lower end of what they'd be willing to pay, there's always room for more!

Good luck!

I don't know if '14' means something in Chinese (maybe one of our members can enlighten me). However if the opening offer was $1000 and unsolicited, in my experience, it usually means the person making the offer has a higher middle ground he expects to meet on. I would counter a value that would mean I would close on a price halfway between his offer and my counter. eg if I wanted $2000 I would counter at $3000 and keep going until met at the $2000. It really hinges on whether you think the opening offer is a fair price. Ask yourself this - if he had offered $200 would you be happy closing the deal at $1000?

You may or may not have had the domain for 7 years but however long you have had it, have you had any other offers for it in the region of $1k? If you have then it proves there is more interest out there and hold out for more. Would you be happy with $2k? If so tell them. On the other hand if there's been no interest in the name at all......

Thank you for your feedback , indeed number 14 is considered the least lucky number by the chinese , but maybe the Germans like it a little bit more...

i found the data center been used for 14bet the net version , is at

IP: 188.40.39.204
IP Location: Nuremberg, Bayern, Germany
Website Status: Active
http://www.hetzner.de/en/

Which really adds no clues to whom maybe interested in making a purchase...

so its hard to say...perhaps i should try 7500 usd and see what is bounced back at me...

Based on todays tv ads these days using ever longer domain names and names with hyphens , mine sounds pretty good.

Fingers crossed.
