As you know we are the registry for .uk domain names, but we cannot comment on the
business practices of our registrars. We do pass on feedback from customers to our
registrars. This is something that has been raised before and I will ask for it to
be raised again with 1&1, but we do not have the authority to tell them how to run
their business.
A customer will have had a contract with 1&1, which we are not party to, and if that
contract says that 1&1 would charge you fees, unless you cancel your contract with
them, then you would be liable for those fees. The only advice I can give is that
this is an issue between the customer and 1&1.
