20,000 Comments WTF!

Just doing a tidy up on a site I haven't looked at for about a year, 20,000 spam comments? Comments are turned off, no comment boxes on the site and the contact form has a captcha on it?

How can comments be submitted on a page that doesn't let you comment?

That site will be going in the bin.

Must be a bot posting feilds to the submit comment form handler. Is it Wordpress or something similar?

Yeah it's a Wordpress, I haven't looked at it or updated it for ages, I will just kill it. I have obviously left vulnerabilities, ah well.

In my defence I do say I am crap at grammar! Will do better..... it is a work in progress, just completed 4000 words on blogging!!!
