Hi Guys: I was wondering what your take is on 3 character .co.uk domain names. Is there value in them if one of the characters is a number? For example (off the top of my head): 1ws.co.uk or qu1.co.uk.

Obviously I realise a .co.uk (like a .com) would be more valuable if it was just letters.

Thanks in advance :D

Same here, I have been offered 1 quite cheap would like to know potential value.

What price was quoted? And what is the domain (if you want to tell me, that is)?

a domain is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

you have to ask yourself why anyone would want to buy a domain like 1ws.co.uk or qu1.co.uk?

unless you have some reason for a specific combination i would just buy ones that are free to reg (but i agree with jonno - why) most of them are worthless in my op..

for example i did 3 searches for domains and this is free to reg : qz1.co.uk

one use for LLN names is postcodes. and lots of businesses name themselves after their postcode.

so some of those might have "some" value.

What do you think colin?

#1.co.uk

I think that somebody forgot to send off the registration form.
That was sold for about what you would expect for a three letter, but that's unusual.

Some do sell if they have an obvious meaning. I always liked fr8.co.uk, but nobody seems interested. Post codes sell, but it's too big an investment.

I reg'd r0x.co.uk
as I thought rocks for music site development but not sure if it was worthwhile.
Any thoughts on value? reg fee i suppose!

I sold a postcode one for £40, I picked it up as a reg fee of course - i think the postcode was somewhere like twickenham.

TW something or other. I suppose the London postcodes would be best: SW1; SW3, SW5 etc. They've all gone, though. :p

I notice my postcode is still available. I woud reg it but I've had a problem with my credit card being overcharged by soddin' Registerfly..... :(
