You can't lump Chinese and Japanese together - they may seem "similar" seen from a UK perspective, but they're very, very different culturally (even though they share some commonality, just like for example different countries in Europe do).

Not sure what "3" stands for, but "8" is lucky in Chinese.

38 means loosely "triple prosperity" so i pressume 3 x triple prosperities

I looked a while ago at all Chinese numbers that meant words,unsuprisingly all good ones are long gone.

Wish i had a couple.
