for starters its a two char domain which is desirable,
second its a number - which are worth more than letters or characters
thirdly its two numbers of the same suit,

I dont agree, you dont really get any companies using the name 44 where as two letters would stand for somthing ie

British Gas BG
British Telecom BT

also you would get lots of typos unless you owned the typos ie fourfour.co.uk fourtyfour.co.uk

3-Letter .com - $3700

numbers worth more

(Obv this isn't .com, and is 2 chars not 3, but shouldn't the same sort of rules apply?)

As the previous owner of 44.co.uk, based on traffic/clicks it would have took over 15 years for the domain to make the 2k.

If it was LL.co.uk it would certainly have not been sold for that amount.

£33,000 on the nose to the right end user. £10 to to £12k otherwise, reseller, £3/5k maybe.

I think your mis-interpreting the data, $3700 is lowest value an LLL.com would likley sell for with aweful letters, you dont really get aweful numbers, actual sales of LLL.com's outperform NNN.com's

NNN are popular in countries where encoding is not the default. So China is the biggest example.

I'd pay more for LLL than NNN to be honest. Unless ofcourse you get 100.tld or something.

My understanding is that LL.co.uk are as rare as rocking horse *** and they are pre nominet aren't they because of the nominet rules prohibit registration.

NNNN certainly in .COM are valuable as they can be used to denote years for example.
