doe's it really take 48hrs to get the click value from the G-man...???
One minute your portfolio is doing great... next thing $10 is wiped off your daily stats..
whats the deal..??
with 10k of uv's already this month & a ctr of 13%...... it's frustrating watching the ppc (& my commission) drop.... like a lead balloon...

why is the variance between your base ppc rate & the real click value so big?? how do you set the base ppc rate for keywords...??

Hi there,

As we mentioned a few months ago, we have been working constantly to get this down to the shortest time possible. This has now gone down from over 48 hours to under 24 hours. We now update at around 5pm GMT for the previous day, practically the very second G gives us the earnings data.
We carried out extensive tests before arriving at our base PPC. For European traffic, the PPC rates most usually go up. Looking at your account for last month, then the month's average PPC was higher than the generic PPC, though the couple of clicks this month don't seem to have made the grade.
We would love to be able to offer real time earnings stats reporting, but Google doesn't give that to anyone, so we have to have the delay if we want to show real stats. We're still working to a) get it down to as short a time as possible and b) get it updated at the same time every evening so you know when to look. With regards to the latter, it is almost always betwen 4-6pm GMT.

Have a good evening Stevie and everyone.

i only really noticed this for the first time this week. whent to bed and had two 10c clicks, woke up and they'd dropped to 3c. maybe not the biggest of deals to some people but to me, i've only just reached the $1 mark so it was quite a shock

Hi Nick,

As I say, this is regrettable, I also have a couple of domains which are earning lower than 10 cent clicks from Google, but across our system, our average European PPC is well above our generic rate. You do also have a click that is three times the generic click price there, so this does swing both ways :)

hi ed.. as ever...thanks for the prompt response..

a) maybe i should limit my stats viewing to once a month..? "pray to the ppc gods & hope that the keyword is good"

b) think of my ND stats like my sales forecast.. "way off the mark & usually 15% over the top"

have a good day fella... ;-)

Hi there,

It's hard to say whether a one-click page or a portal will pay more. We find that portal pages normally have lower CTR but slightly higher PPC and 1-click pages have higher CTR and slightly lower PPC, however, in most cases we would certainly recommend 1-click pages for the majority of your domains.

Regions

The region tab, how important is it for couk domains, or is it best to leave at all regions...
Also when regions are changed is it usual for keywords to be blank [ if chosen for usa and changed to europe] and have to be redone for each area..

Hi there Zee,

The region for a .co.uk name is normally pretty immaterial. You normally find that traffic on .co.uk names is predominantly British-based. It's hard to give an across-the-board answer but, by clicking on the settings for a specific domain name, you can see the traffic and activity per ad region and decide for yourself if you need to have a look at the US (or other regions) as well.
As far as regions staying blank:
If you set one keyword for 'all regions', it will only stay set for 'all regions'. If you set a keyword for all regions and a different one for 'Europe', then it will show the first keyword for all regions except Europe where it will show your specific keyword for Europe.

Let me know if this isn't explained very well :)
