Nominet has just released an update on some research they carried out with the headline being "77% [of UK consumers] preferring to click on a .uk search result over a .com".

UK prefers .uk to .com

The .uk domain name plays an important role in the UK and global economy. Our research has shown us that UK consumers have a greater level of trust in .uk domain names with 77% preferring to click on a .uk search result over a .com.

As of posting the links to the research aren't working but the headline definitely matches my experience which is great news for UK domainers.
