What do you think of the following...?

mum.co.uk
dad.co.uk
kid.co.uk/kids.co.uk

And do you think having the "themed set" increases their overall value over that of the individual domains?

If an end user is going to be shelling out big bucks for generics such as these then its my opinion that not having the .com will stifle the price obtainable. Do you own the .coms?

I would keep them together.

I don't want to second guess any buyers motives but say for an advertising campaign for holiday and travel, each domain could be a separate campaign advertising the same holiday from a different family member's point of view.

could also be insurance, cars, homes, . . . anything really

I think it adds a couple of extra catgut strings to your bow.

It seems kids is the norm these days, ten years ago it wasn't. I'd still look at that grouping and state children.co.uk or boy.co.uk and girl.co.uk would look better, mum, dad, kids doesn't have the same ring but it might work with a younger generation, like others have said, depends on any future buyer.

suprisingly lowish ovt for words that you would have thought quite popular - based on the ovt results alone the domains have an obvious link to gift sites. How this would work with three seperate domains is for question - it seems a shame to waste such great domain names as pointers.

family domains

hi, nice domains. i don't think they are worth more as a group as can't see anyone shelling out to develop all three or wasting 2 just pointing.
not sure of values.
how much do you want for the dad.co.uk? give me a pm
