you can expect to pay 200+ for a decent chair. Seeing as you have back problems, its worth paying the extra. Try looking at some orthopaedic firms.

My driving instructor had bad back pain when I was learning to drive, a Corsa is not good for back pain :)
Although I drive a Corsa now, at least mine has sports seats so a bit more comfy.

A big 4x4 is your best bet, like a Range Rover. Dont have to bend over to get in and out and you sit very upright once in. Whip out the passenger chair and you can use that in your office :p

Or if you are cheap like me, my old 52 plate Citroen C3 was perfect for a bad back (in fact everyone I know with back problems now has a C3 or C4).

My advice is don't pike out on a decent chair. I had one from Staples that I bought for £50 and it gave me lots of pain. There was so little padding it ended up constricting the flow of blood to my legs!

I'd budget at least £150 - £200, go to Staples and try them out, they normally have them out on show in their stores.

Herman Miller office furniture is meant to be the best for ergonomics but it's pricey. There's normally some older stuff on ebay though.

chair

My advice is don't pike out on a decent chair It was because I had a £50 'cheepo' from argos,it was useless, then paid argos £15 for seat pad still useless for anyone with spine trouble, £65 down tube....the one I bought is perfect.....their sale service is 1+, plus a great detailed selection...z
