Can you help me i have been emailed by a top premiership club to ask if i would be willling to 'part' with domain 'nameofclub fc' can anyone give me guidence as to worth of domain and the best way of contacting and dealing with club.
I have never done this before and wouldbe grateful of all the help i can get

Thank you :)

they are more than likely trying to find out if your selling and how much for. most premiership clubs have their name trademarked and therefore if you own a domain name with their name in it, you are infringing on their rights.

they are probably just fishing for info, if you reply to them they'll know who owns it and will probably follow it up with a solicitors letter.

My advice? Don't reply to the email. See if they chase you some other way. if they do, hand over the name and put it down to experience.

regards
Justin

Dont be too greedy and suggest you want £500 - tell them you are developing a fansite for it but as you are in the early stages, £500 would divert your attention.

Of course everyone is assuming fc stands for football club, why not fitness club, fishing club or anything you can think of.
The name of the club is also the name of the city and guess they do not own the rights to that, example Derby fridge centre i cannot see they have a claim, as i say new to this am i wrong

like the other guy said i wouldnt do anything about it, just leave it, sounds like thier just fishing for information and what you intentions are with the site. Leave it alone...

If my intention was to have a fanzine site would that be a problem, or as i have have said above fc could mean anything
