If I know that a .co.uk domain is due for release on a certain date, and that company a owns the .com .net .info and .biz, but don't appear to be monitoring the .co.uk oh and the company is registered but under company b.

following me so far? :)

I have a monitoring script that works well and should catch the domain. Whats your views on my doing so, catching it, and then sending them a mail saying 'domain'.co.uk is currently available for sale?

or should I be the good samaritan and let them know...

let them have it...

You never know what might happen if your nice :)

Well you could apply some of the "classic" ethics tests to see if a particular course of action is ethical...

- The Mom & Pop test: Would you be happy to tell your mum and dad what you've just done?

- The TV test: Would you be willing to go on national television and tell the world about what you have just done?

If the answers to the above are "no", the chances are it's unethical.

:grin:

I'm a good boy, honest!! :)

I've dropped their marketing dept a mail and offered my services.

Better I think. All above board.
