Hi,

I must admit I dont use printer/scanner much, infact at the moment I just have a really cheap Lexmark standard printer. Have just been using it for printing off low quality posting and invoice notes etc.

Anyway, it has now broken and im thinking about getting a fairly decent printer/scanner/copier. Dont need fax. I would like something I can now use to print off good quality letters and paperwork with the odd bit of scanning and copying.

Ive had a look round the net and there seems to be alot of good prices at the moment but also alot of choice! So is getting rather confusing.

Idealy would like to get a nice under £100 deal on something and one that doesnt cost the earth to change the inks!!

Any suggestions?

Thanks

I have an Epson Stylus Photo RX620 and tbh I'm not that keen on it. The software is a bit flaky and it seems to use up coloured ink very quickly.

On the basis of their Cameras, I reckon Canon would make good printers, although I've never owned one.

Rgds

HP are pretty good in my experience... The older, the better though (all printer stuff from all manufacturers seems to have got progressively worse [ie: because of cheapness] over time) - if you can pick up an older HP model, then you're in the business - find a 2nd hand one in eBay or refurb...

Brother - you can get a cheap deal, and get cheap replacement cartridges... But they aren't as reliable as other manufacturers...

Epson - can print off some really good prints, but the software (Drivers) and such has always been off on their inkjets...

inks i find are the worst problem

I would definatly go for a printer with individual cartridges for inks it works out much cheaper

my epson isnt amazing quality but is good.

Epson sx100

Buy Epson Stylus SX100 Printer, Scanner and Copier. at Argos.co.uk - Your Online Shop for .

which has just gone to half price! ha, git :( i may go back and change it! oooooo. anyway, epsons seem to be cheap ink, i only pay 7 quid for black ink and 20quid for colour. So it really depends what you will be doing more of... but black is usually around 15quid for most :)

unless you shops around online.

I've got a Canon Pixma MP460 which cost me £25 new from Argos a year ago. I'm really impressed with it especially the quality of the printing although I have to say it looks really ugly.

devolution is right about the old HP printers. I had one for five years that I bought in 1998 and the quality was in my opinion on par with a laser printer.

I have a HP nice printer but if i unplug then plug back in when i switches it on it says installation 97% complete ?

All i do is click cancel and ok a few times and then it does it, that's probably just a simple problem i haven't figured out

I have uninstalled and reinstalled, same problem.

I use to have an Oviletti and that was briliant :D

Got it to today, its fantastic and a great swift service from Dabs aswell.

Copy function makes me wonder why I never got anything like this before, so easy!
