Ok a simple question - as domainers we all can spot a superb .co.uk domain name :

loans.co.uk
holidays.co.uk
creditcards.co.uk
insurance.co.uk

etc...

So in your opinion, which domains / words DO suit the .org.uk extension and would be valuable for various reasons.

Greywing has stated in a thread earlier in the week that he received a £15k offer for donate.org.uk - obviously very fitting to the extension

So I am curious what domains that YOU think are valuable on a .org.uk extension and your actual valuations of them.

Don't be shy :)

I think domains in certain legal/personal areas like Wills.org.uk, Divorce.org.uk or AssistedSuicide.org.uk work well. They gain an immediate feeling of trustin these sectors - Donate.org.uk has this.

I agree with Julian but also would say that something like plumber.co.uk would sell for a nice price but plumber.org.uk would struggle to sell as businesses don't want them.

The value I see in .org.uks is high UK exacts product generics simply because you can get them ranked the same as a .co.uk

So things like trainers.org.uk would be good.

I have to agree. The org.uk domain is bought by people that understand SEO and are able to use it for products and services.

I have been trying to sell to end users and have had a few replies saying that org.uk are for charitable organisations, so there is still an education required to explain the potential of these domains.

What's more memorable or impressive, xyzplumbers.co.uk or plumbers.org.uk??

Do you think that a .org.uk whatever the term generates more user trust in the domain than the .co.uk??

or do you really think its niche specific?

I think it is how you portray the website on the domain IMHO

If it is something like Julian mentions (lets use divorce.org.uk as an example) then it can fit the niche 100x better than the .co.uk, especially if presented in the correct way, that the public "likes to see"

"Divorce.org.uk - The organisation that can provide 100% free advice on everything divorce related"

sounds much better than

"Divorce.co.uk - The company that can provide 100% free advice on everything divorce related"

Most people will always know / rightly assume that a company is out to make money so therefore, free may not really mean free

An organisation is usually associated with charity organisations and REAL free information resources.

There is a thin line between the 2, but it really is how you present the "website" what matters and can make a huge difference to conversion rates on your sites.

And yes I am talking from experience.
