Another google update coming??

Saw a post on another forum of talk of another google update this coming friday (16th) or monday (18th)..

Thought is was worth sharing

The guy is a fool mate, I wouldn't worry about anything Matt Cutts says or does, usually it gets rolled back 2-3 weeks later on the quiet.

I think Lee from here was the funniest when Matt Cutts highlighted some of Lee's text as spam and punished one of his finance sites. Only for one of Lee's other sites with the exact same text and to appear at the same time at the top for Payday Loans.

Matt Cutts is Google's comedy figure, my thinking is that Google's real anti spam engineers are doing something completely different and this monkey is sent out to put everyone off the trail.

Just put Google out of your mind when building sites and they will love you. Build it for Google and it tends to smack you.

Thanks for sharing, but I kind of agree with the post above.

Not only that, but in that article it says that they went after a large network a few weeks ago. This isn't true. Instead, it was an over-optimization penalty (anchor text related). I was thinking about posting about this on my site, but I'm not sure if it's worth it.

Read that before. As I said a few posts ago, they haven't targeted Sape. I know this for a fact.

They've targeted sites that don't have enough variation in regards to anchor text (which a lot of people using Sape done since they just used their main keywords).

What do you mean by deindex?

I just meant a mixture including but not limited to target/focus on/devalue/reduce merit - sorry if deindex was the wrong term

Maybe I should write something about this, hmmm.

On a completely different note : I'd recommend people start building sites that don't depend on search engines for traffic.

I know this sounds really difficult at first, but I'm sure it can be done! I'm hoping to get a new site together during the summer that won't depend on search engines for traffic.

Only problem is that it'll cost a decent bit of money to get going.
