Bloody legal issues!!

Some arse in the US owns example.com and has a trademark on the term 'example' but does not have a uk trademark on the term. I own the equivalent .co.uk and he claims I am violating his trademark, even though his domain name has never been used and the trademark was filed months after I registered the .co.uk.

How much weight does the US trademark hold in this sort of situation?

obviously, example.com is an example domain

Bloody common laws... TM isn't required to demonstrate rights in the name ;(
