Any cookie/ad experts out there

Hi

I seem to be being followed by the same adverts around the internet, any idea how I can shake them off, other than clearing them manually each time?

I have been looking at showers lately, and now everywhere I go, inc here, I see shower adverts from the last store I visited in almost every post page, it was ok at first, but now bugs me lol I may never go back to those stores again now.

I like visiting sites and seeing the ads, variety etc, but now I see shower enclosures everywhere, any help would be greatly appreciated.

if its ones ive seen before, on the ad itself theres normally a little question mark, you can click it to find out more about how it knows its something your after or have looked at and then can revoke them from doing it.

I had the same but issue however mine was for womens clothing as the gf had been spending quite a while looking for stuff on my laptop!

I assume you cleaned your cookies and stuff, I know I was getting similar and clean everything. So tried on one of my other computrers here and the ads showed up again.

Only thing I can think of is that it's using ip's as well as that is thye only common factor over here.

If it is that then there is little you can do besides trying proxies.

@max lol could be a good ploy by your girlfriend to get you to buy her more clothes.

@Graeme yes I think the ip was used as I had tried the other options.

@Jeff Avoiding firefox at the moment but will try the addons when it next updates. The witopia site looks just what we need at work for the kids.

@foz what a brilliant site. I think it's the tribal site mainly as there are lots of tracking cookies when I scan with their name on.
