Has anyone ever used an android netbook? Are they as functional as a laptop with the exception of being able to install stuff like outlook? What I'm wanting is a surfing netbook that doesn't cost the earth, I can access google business apps and easily update documents in the cloud etc.

What I don't want is when I use the android netbook built in browser (would it be chrome) that I get mobile versions of every site because they think that's what I'm viewing from. Access google from my phone is a nightmare, always pinging back to the browser version of the site and leaves out some of the easy options built into the gmail that you can see via a normal PC.

If anyone has used one, I'd be grateful for you input.

I know a lot of ebay sellers are punting netbooks with android but the version on them is for touch screen devices so you get certain actions looking funny.

The problem is not the keyboard / case design it is the browser detection on the host, even on my 10" tablet, many sites simply detect Android and give you the mobile version, it is very frustrating even when installing FireFox this is still often recognised as mobile

Arse. For the offline business we update a lot of treatment sheets and will soon be hosting them in the cloud for easy locational access and universal for all. The android netbooks are like sub £100 which is ideal for this sort of use, an actual netbook is like £175 min.

I need two and thought they'd be a good little investment. Bol**x :p

You might be able to tweak the browser string, I'm sure there used to the ability to set the string in FF, but I've not bothered as I generally don't plug in a keyboard / mouse and just use the tablet sat in front of the TV, so the occasional click to switch back to the full site is not a real problem.
