are 3 letter domains exempt?

i was wondering, are 3 letter domains too 'generic' to be subject to a DRS or are they in as much danger as any other non specfiic/generic domain name?

Doubt it: BBC, ITV, SKY, RAC, B-T, BAT etc. Same 'risk factor' imho. In fact, bearing in mind the high number of companys that opt for TLA's [3 letter acronyms] as their nomenclature, there's possibly an even higher risk of a DRS than that associated with a longer name containing similar letters!

I don't think that anybody has a had a three letter domain taken away.

Normally there is more than one company with a good claim, you point out that you grab every 3 letter that becomes available and a couple of other things.

From what I can gather from these (don't try and open them with Firefox) is that you are likely to be OK unless you start p155ing about, upping the price and offering to sell them to the claimants competitors - ala ghd.co.uk
