Augmented reality - coming to your life soon(ish)

Been hearing a lot about a company called Innovega recently, who are at the forefront of developing augmented reality direct to your eyeball. See:

This isn't going to happen overnight, but it wouldn't surprise me if everyone was wearing augmented reality contact lenses within 20 years. Will make our current worries about always being attached to the grid via computers and mobile phones a quaint relic of the past.

Too far. I don't want to be an android or dictated by Google. I might actually want to get lost now and again when looking for directions and not told where to walk and turn by a computer. I don't even use a sat nav and if I ever did I would be once in a blue moon, I wouldn't want to be hooked up all the time like that!

If someone bought me a pair of those specs for a birthday I would just stamp on them.
