I'd not even heard of beard oil until about six months ago but it really is very popular apparently. A good buy for someone!

I use beard oil, but its one of many products you need, since the rise of the top knot, tat sleeved hipster took to having a beard, I guess oil is the most popular.

Its sort of like having the domain handcream or facecream, when it comes to skin care. There is beard oil, beard balm, beard wax, tache wax, beard wash, beard conditioner and thats before you even to the beard growth, beard thickener, underbeard skin food, beard brushes, beard trimmers, beard shaping tools an who knows what else.

Theres lots of ops with amazon, ebay, and others, plenty of markets to cross and up sell too, but I think we're at critical mass now, but gotta move quick though, I'll be keeping an eye out :)

I'd never heard of beard oil until I saw the auction.

Would you go with the generic name or a brand name for this market?

On a related note, there's an interview on domainsherpa with the (new'ish) owner of beard.com. Worth a listen/read here.

I usually buy by the scent rather than the brand.

I've found some branded ones to be nasty and greasy, and some generics to lack sillage, so its swings and roundabouts. I've paid from 10p to £1.50 per gram for oils and balms and both sides ends can be unpredictable.

Now I choose based on my aftershave and sprays. Its kind of like how if you use an aftershave gift pack, and use the shower gel, body lotion and fragrance, it lasts soooo much longer. Nothing stopping you using on eyebrows, tache, hair etc so it adds some extra scent too.

I'm going to listen to that later, had a quick read of it. Beard.com is nice.

I've had a listen of the podcast, aside from wanting to stab the host every time he said "nitch". Its a little vague on most prices but he did suggest the 6-figure price is out there, be interesting which side of 6-figs it would sit.

Its also interesting that he recognised we're over the hump, but that its a long term item, and that covering both shave and beard markets so as people move side to side he's got them covered.

Not so sure on his idea that shave.club and beard.club are his best domains even based on his theory.

Def worth a listen bearded or not.

Or if you can't be bothered to listen to a 55 minute video, there's also a transcript...

Are his transscripts generally accurate ? I've often found parts missing.

I just put it on while working, took a break from satanic chanting :)

Not sure, I could never stomach a whole video.

Does satanic chanting pay well, then? Never figured that as a job... ;)

Hard to take the website serious when they have Estibot as a sponsor. I doubt Luke used that website to determine its value :D

I did chuckle when I read that.

I think it were Julian who had Domtastic.co.uk its now http://www.domxs.com which isn't too bad for valuations. Have a look and see what you think. I'm not saying accurate but not too crazy.
