I've recently started to develop a few domains - just a few at a time. At the moment, one of my sites is doing extremely well, and got over 30 clicks on adsense yesterday - this is a domain that was setup about 3 weeks ago. Having exponential traffic growth due to its topic, and that particular topic's news coverage at the moment, as well as top rankings in MSN Search.

I think the best way to get some cash out of domains that aren't generally great sellers, is to get them online, and get some genuine traffic to them. You can generally cover your domain reg fee in no time for minimal effort.

Take a look at software that can help you do this quickly. I always use wordpress, and i have a series of modifications that I do to ensure better SEO, and thus more hits. Careful advertisement placement can ensure a good return, although I would make sure that you have decent content that isn't duplicated from elsewhere - search engines can penalise you if too much of your content is duplicated from elsewhere...

I'd say the best way is SEO, that way you get targetted traffic although you could to a certain extend target your traffic using expired domains.

SEO is certainly the hardest way and you'll need to put alot of work in.

On one of my sites i use a combination of SEO and typo domains that related to the subject, in some cases linking them to very targetted pages.

I'd say develop them all, but its hard to keep track of lots of sites, but always go for quality sites rather than quantity of sites.

I started work on a large scale affiliate site but never got round to finishing it, i was going to experiment with Adwords on it.

As such i've never got round to experimenting with Adwords, although in my opinion its too expensive to drive traffic to a normal site.

Hello

You could try looking for cheaper clicks on some of the lesser known PPC engines such as Miva or even suprisingly Overture, and then driving them to you Google Adsense sites acting almost as a traffic broker. I'd agree that Adwords might be too expensive but it would depend on your niche. Typo's can be good, but you need a lot of them to earn a decent income.
