Webgains is pretty good -- I just realised the other day they have programmes in different countries. (Germany, France etc.)

I used to work at Electronic Arts a few years ago (it's owned by the AOL cartel), and they closed their UK offices last year.... I got a sense of the b.s. management and attitudes they had towards staff there. Not good...

I hope buy.at doesn't go the same way, but I have a feeling that affiliates will get less commissions as the upper levels will try and milk more money out of it.

But what I'm really having trouble with across the board is a reliable mobile phones affiliate programme. Every programme I've tried (via Webgains, AffiliateFuture etc.) seems to go into administration within a few months! And I've lost a lot of comissions because of this.

Anyone know a good Mobile Phones scheme that won't go bust??!!

Why not try the mobile networks affiliate schemes? 3, t-mobile, o2, virgin, vodafone & tescomobile are all on buy.at, (as are carephonewarehouse who I would have thought are unlikely to go bust!)

Hi All,

Thanks for the comments and good wishes.

I think it is fair to say that one of the attractive aspects of buy.at to AOL were the synergies we have in attitude to advertising.com as well as the obvious technology and relationships benefits it will bring.

So its all steam ahead, with the same bearing, just now with a few turbos fitted. :)

Feel free to get in touch if anyone has any questions or concerns.

As Pete says its full steam ahead and I don’t see that there is much chance of this happening. Your commissions won’t be changing. All staff are staying as well as the management Team (Directors). There are going to be people who speculate that it’s the classic case of once all of the Directors have been paid out they'll jump ship. I don’t see that happening but people do make move in life and don’t stay at the same job forever. All of us are sticking around and nobody has made any mention of leaving. And on that note let’s not forget how important the Account Managers and the Affiliate Development teams are. They carry a lot of strong relationships and day to day service with affiliates and their situation hasn’t changed! I have total faith in them.

If we do change and start to become a company that doesn’t act in the same manner starts to become less approachable and completely out of touch then I'll eat my hat. You get to be successful by doing things correctly. The minute you change direction from what made you successful in the first place then the playing field changes and your momentum grinds to a halt.

And as Doug says (look at what Rob, Pete and Team did with WebGains)........ There are loads of choice and if we start to slip I am certain there will be another network ready to jump on us and provide a better level of service to affiliates! I would be very surprised if this happened. Even though we do have different business models than Ad.com I am certain we’ll be passing the best components of both companies back and forth and have the good sense to see changes that don’t make sense and will not benefit affiliates and not implement them.

It’s a really good time ...... we’re all really excited and the biggest thing now for us is to work out how to integrate Ad.com tools into buy.at to give Affs more selections and options!

If you're looking for some help on the mob phone front we have all of the networks as clients, so please get in touch with [email protected] (from the Aff Dev Team) and he'll help you to get started!

Cheers
Tyson
