Buying .co.uk domains without .uk rights

I'm a bit scared about buying .co.uk domains on Sedo right now since it's not possible to contact the owner. This means you might buy the .co.uk domain only for the owner to keep the .uk version.

Also, even if the .uk isn't registered yet, he might then register it before handing the domain over.

What are people's thoughts?
