Reg fee if undeveloped IMHO. Yes, it is an expression (e.g. "He is a plumber by trade"), but as a search term - pretty uncommon.

At the same time could be developed into a directory.

IMO, If you want an appraisal you should put what you know about the subject name in your intro, this will encourage more informed opinions from members. People won't spend hours researching your domain name and unresearched opinions can often offend.

why dont you develop it? I see two potentials for this development:
site to find tradesman
site to buy and sell stock to the trade (a replica of the .com)

If the right buyer came along £200, but if developed £500 +

I would always prefer to develop.
