Wanted: Domain Appraisal CarsForSale.eu

Just picked up CarsForSale dot eu obviously it would have been an amazing find if it had been a .com etc but it is a pretty searched for phrase with a lot of traffic I would expect!

Any ideas on value or what I could do with it?

Massive UK exacts but .eu :?

You would have to get it ranked and then it would be worth something otherwise sell it to a car dealer, explain about the exacts and how it can benefit them but don't mention about the extension being dodgy

To an end user I would reckon you can go for 2k if they understand the benefits of a highly searched generic.

Do this in your post carsforsale#eu otherwise it will get indexed and posts on Acorn get indexed within 2 hours believe it or not.

I was a bit surprised it was sitting there unregistered to be honest, pretty much all the other extensions had been taken including some even more obscure ones!

I work in SEO so could probably get it rank reasonably over time, I was also thinking about building a free to list classifieds site on it, perhaps aimed at the more exotic and collectible cars as these are bought and sold internationally!

Thanks for your feedback, I would appreciate any other views before I decided to what to do with it.

This is similar to the classifieds market I was going on about for yacht.co.uk. It's a very long road with a big pay off at the end if you can challenge the likes of AutoTrader, but in reality, that is a massively challenging prospect. To attack the market you would need the domain in the right extension, the .eu is not well suited to marketing campaigns. Ultimately, that is what limits the value of domains such as yours - the realisation amongst serious web developers that it is a massive challenge, so is it really worth going for?

Well it looks like I can get a feed of cars for sale in the tens of thousands from another site, so could perhaps build a site and generate some decent adsense revenue off it and then perhaps sell the domain/site off that way. I think this is the route I will take as I don't fancy running a car dealership at the moment!
