Hi, I'm currently working on a group of consumer sites offering the same core product but marketing each niche separately, with separate url and site for each aspect (to offer more ways to market /attract customers).

I am looking at having the main site as the engine (with ssl and payment facilities) and then have satellite sites to act as a kind the kind of showroom before p.o.s.

For example, let's say i'm using 'computers .co.uk' (I wish!) as the main engine and I build sites on my other domains (minus the payment aspect).

So I would have laptopcomputers .co.uk , desktopcomputers .co.uk notebookcomputers .co.uk etc with content dedicated to their respective fields and a transition to secure.computers.co.uk for processing when they buy.

Would this structure make sense should or I be doing it in reverse?: e.g redirecting traffic from computers .co .uk to laptopcomputers .co .uk etc?

Or should I be looking a subdomains instead?

Any advice greatfully received.

Many thanks,
Daniel

Rather than give speculative advice personally, I advise that you read this - published by Google yesterday in the wake of Epik.com having 6,000+ mass developed sites blacklisted by Google.

They cover doorway and feeder sites in the article.

Thanks Ty,

I suppose it doesn't matter as long as all of my content is different on each site (which it will be). The purpose of this format is not to spam but to be able to focus specifically on each niche with relevant content. The main site is just for administrative purposes and to save me buying lots of SSLs.

Cheers
