Checks before buying a domain?

I've had my eye on a domain for a while which I plan on developing for SEO purposes.

Could anyone suggest any checks I should be making on the domain to ensure it has not been banned by Google in the past?

I have already checked on WayBack Machine which just has a few retro looking pages from back in 2001 and nothing since.

The site has 3 pages indexed in Google which seem to be dynamically generated urls and all of which are cached as the SEDO holding page.

I've also ran a backlink search in a few different tools, none of which found any links.

If anyone can suggest any other things I should be checking I would really appreciate it.

It really doesn't matter if the domain has been previously banned by Google - you can submit a report and tell them you're the new owner, no relation to any previous owners, and you're starting the site from scratch. They are good about these things.

If you've done your WayBack machine and backlink checks it looks like you're good to go
