They were over the moon when the auction house valued it at between £800k - £1.2m

Imagine what they were like when it sold for £51m !

imagine the guy who holds it up the front, bet he was crapping himself thinking he would drop. what if he fainted when it got to 50 million
bet insurers would wriggle out

also when people pay this amount, what if another was found next year, and another the year after.
how can just a vase ever be worth more? its nasty too

I think this vase is a rarity and apparently it is in perfect condition - 200 years along.

From and anglo-saxon point of view, it may not look much, but for a chinese collector, they saw something very different.
