16 Local Exacts a month, reg fee undeveloped. If you develop it and get some traffic going to it could sell for more.

It will be worth even less, because Google will come after you for it.

Come on, Edwin... If a reg an AppleJam would big A come after me?

"Chrome plating, often referred to simply as chrome, is a technique of electroplating a thin layer of chromium onto a metal object." Wiki

So it simply depends of what it is used for. ;)

I was just showing that it is not necessary a TM issue here. E.g. if I am a mechanic and regg, let's say, iTuneEngines, would it be a problem? ;)

i can't find a date where they talk about a chrome laptop?
but I'll take your word for it :)

thanks

are you telling me that I should have used the money to buy my nans medicine instead of those domains??

:D

not to worry

surely it can be the colour though.. i don't think i will be chased by google?

thanks

It would go off what's on the site, if it selling only chrome coloured laptops then surely it's not an issue,

We are making half-hearted attempts to point out that it could be a problem for the registrant, if Google come after it they won't be half-hearted in their pursuit. I'm sure we've all registered something we then came to regret for similar reasons though, just learn the lesson and move on.

The first 50 or so results for 'chrome laptop' or 'chromed laptop' are all about Google Chrome OS laptops. You've registered it when they are about to announce their Chrome Laptop.

How are you going to monetise it without upsetting them? Post some links to some of the chrome laptops you could advertise.

I would say using chrome laptop as a descriptive as the likes of chrome taps, chrome phone cover, chrome sink etc you may be fine but doubt it would make any money… Use in any way that infringes, etc the “G “ they would pursue and likely win…

Doubt they would buy it,,,? They know that undeveloped doesn't harm them and developed it couldn't infringe upon there TM, Brand etc (for long) so it’s not effecting them. There are individuals, companies that “specialize” in using infringing trademarks etc to make a quick buck push a product get market awareness etc and disappear or are registered were nothing can be done to them but there are better ones to reg or buy as in revenue potential than the above

Here's the problem - if that's your intent for it, then it's worthless anyways. I had never heard of specifically a "chrome colored laptop" until this thread and search #s would indicate I'm not alone.

So yes, worthless either way - either it's chrome colored laptop and it's just a really weak domain, or it's a Chrome OS laptop and Google will grab it from you n' laugh.

Talking through experience I once received a cease and desist letter on behalf of well known pharmaceutical company. And the long and short of it is that G has commercial rights to chrome and if they decided to pursue chromelaptop, chances are that you would have to give up the name.

That is the reality.
