For those who are interested (not many I guess), they are showing the Columbo episode "Any old port in a storm" (1973) today on Channel Five at 3.30pm.

This is one of the best ones ever made in my opinion, it's all about wine. Some superb (over) acting from Donald Pleasence.

Rumour has it that it's also Peter Falk's favorite, but I'm not sure where I got that from - it's probably not true.

I advise you to watch it!

Agreed, def. one of the best episodes. My all time fave is that 'rosebud' one with the killer dogs, can't remember the correct title.

You got the dvd box sets BB??

Aye, that is also a good one :) Another belter is "The Conspirators" which was on CH5 very recently - all about the Irish chap trying to buy guns for back home.

I had a load on VHS from when they were on BBC1 / CH5 about 10 years ago but I'm now slowly going through the DVD box sets (via Amazon rental). They are on TV so much that there's hardly a need to release them on DVD but why not.

So far I've only found one on the box sets that I hadn't seen already :)

Columbo and Rockford Files have definately got to two of my favourites, perhaps Columbo just in front.
