Some of you will remember my recent catastrophic data failure (which drive 0 came back from data recovery as toast, drive 1 not sent yet).

I got an email from MyMemory saying the 16gb Corsair Voyager GT is £18.99, with the 5% discount code and QuidCo or Aff money its close to £16 (off the top of my head).

I was 'given' small refurb after explaining my concerns and recent exp to test. I boiled it in my kettle for about 3 minutes and it still worked, I threw it off the top of the metal steps near Castlefield ruins in Manchester (3-4 floors up) and still worked, so I'm happy to say its sound.

If any of you are looking at a new USB pen (for ready boost or other) then this is a nice bit of kit, I have a few of the 16gb ones, and a few of the 32gb Survivors. You get a lanyard and usb cable with it too.

Thought this maybe of interest and my own tests may add value :)

Hi skinner

Do you have a link to the one you recommend?

A really tough one would be good as my eldest just started high school in Swinton lol

The one I kettled was http://mailer.mymemory.co.uk/r/link/432d9900996f3400II5ec4b6741II232a0II776c5dII5ec4b676b this one. That's the link from the actual email, I ordered mine a few weeks ago, and used discount code Back5 hopefully still valid.

Its the Corsair Voyager GT 16gb, which I actually tested. Just threw it in a cold kettle and hit boil, and left it till it switched off. Can't say I'd risk it with one of my working ones but since I got it free :p

I also have Kingston DataTraveller R300 I think its called, its a Black and Orange one, and I have Corsair Survivors (looks like a metal vibrator) GT-R.

These 3 have excellent rugged properties, the Survivor has a known Blue LED of Death issue, but their RMA Warranty is bullet proof and they don't hassle over replacing the device (unless you microwave it which isn't covered), so on day to day stuff which isn't mission critical or the Survivor is the daddy.

Overall the Voyager and DataTraveller are part of my back up system and the survivor is just for moving from home-office-client-travel etc, almost every client has commented on it so far so nice talking point about security :)

Edit: Pictures for size, thats an AAA battery, the smaller than pencil size.

Thanks. Just ordered one. Code never worked but I think it's the mobile diversion maybe?

Free delivery too lol

You should have hunted around for a code Caz.

I ordered mine last week so maybe it expired, since I used it. I used discount code and quidco on mine.
