datafeedr v easy content units

An alternative option is DatafeedStudio. If you have a wordpress blog then they have a plugin.

The advantages of using DS over ECU and Datafeedr (imo):
- No monthly fees
- You can customise the look of the units easily (more customisation options, and more advanced)
- You will not be relying on feeds to be updated (you can run a cron job to do this automatically). I had to recently prompt ECU to update a feed that had not been updated for a few weeks.
- In the past ECU units have gone down during maintenance or downtime periods. The uptime of DS will depend upon your host, but if it is a reliable one then this should be around 99.9%.
- Easy to add your own products and retailers.

Each had there advantages found I wanted features of both though

ECU Is very easy to implement for the non technical this also made it very rigid though in terms of what you can do design and layout wise.

Dfr allows creation of more professional looking sites but takes longer to set up. The big negative for me was no price comparison but apparently thats been added now. Haven't tested this feature though.

One further option to muddy the waters even more is pricetapestry its not a solution for everyone you need to be able to understand a little php and HTML if you want to structure it into a decent looking site and you have to be happy geting feeds from the networks.
That being said there is tons of examples in the support forum or you can just buy a ready coded template.

A lot depends on what you want to do as to which one I'd recommend as the best option.

I signed up at ECU a few months ago after hearijg it was supposedly easy to use, I found it a bloody nightmare to set up the correct ad types and products, spent several days messing about on there trying to get the right products in each thing, nightmare, not bothered logging in there since.

Even the Affiliate Window thing for making the boxes with products in, so convoluted to do and never get what I need, either product or brand not listed, there should be something where they list each retailer, each of their brands and products, so you can simply tick a box next to each and then click add, simple, but nothing is ever like that, click this, then drag that, then do this, and that, load of old pony in this day and age.

Think theres definitely a gap in the market to be exploited if someone could do this.
I've tried storeburt and most of the scripts out there and all of them have have negative points.
I'm going to get really stuck in to pricetapestry at the end of term.
As I think once I'm over the very steep learning curve I should be able to knock decent quality affiliate sites out that don't just look like clones ready for google to slap down.

Do you have any example sites using DS?
