I'm trying to change the nameservers on a .de held at godaddy. They say they cannot be changed until the following criteria has been met.

When modified for a .DE domain name, the new nameservers must meet the following criteria:

Refresh rate between 10000 and 86400 seconds

Retry rate between 1800 and 28800 seconds

Expiration rate between 604800 and 3600000 seconds

Resource record TTL (Time To Live) between 180 and 345600 seconds

The following criteria must also be met:

The domain MX record must resolve to a mail server that is valid for the life of the domain registration.

The DNS servers must be located on two distinct class C networks.

The zone files for both nameservers must have matching serial numbers.

The primary and secondary hosts specified in both zone files must match the first and second nameservers entered.

Can anyone explain this in simple english ??

I can clear the invincible's usual mind blending answer: your problem is that the nameservers must be located in different subsets. Another means they need to be coming from different servers.

.de domains

I like Godaddy as a company and have many domains with them, but for .de extentions and customer service i think you should transfer out to www.eurodns.com as changing nameservers or any info regarding .de, .fr, .at etc are brilliant, plus freddie will always lend a helping hand if need be...

I host all my other extensions like >

www.loans.de
www.loans.fr
www.loans.at
www.loans.pl
www.loans.as
www.loans.lv
www.loans.ac

and many others with them and never have any issues whatsoever.

Good luck
Barry
