Surprised by this sale. I would definitely have paid £3k a month ago but not sure about after the .uk and EMD updates. Congrats to buyer though as this industry is definitely on the upper.

I't not a name I would go for myself but it seems at least 2 people would have liked it at the price, and the bingo market is a big one, so I'd say it's a good buy now at that price, same as it would have been a month ago.

As far as I'm concerned, domain pricing shouldn't change due to the possible release of .UK, infact, if anything, the opposite will happen, I can see .co.uk being worth more if they introduce.UK.

As for the EMD updates, I don't personally think that's of any consequence, if you build a good strong site on a good EMD domain, it'll rank, if you make a shite site on an EMD it wont, simple as that the way I look at it.

Not sure about that. As a domain buyer/developer I've always felt like some of the value from the domain is knowing I can build a really basic site on it with a couple of links and it will sit there ranking 1st page and make at least some money.

I've personally stopped buying EMDs where the value is in ranking for that specific term because I just feel there's too many unknowns right now. Also I get the feeling website age is a big part of the EMD update which imo would create a longer ROI to make my money back as a developer.

Say someone gets the .UK of whatever generic term, they may feel the need to buy the .co.uk due to that well used phrase, "leakage", people are going to be putting .co.uk on the end of domains for a long time to come, as that's what they're used to, as a result if, a .UK owner wants the .co.uk of the domain they own, they're going to have to pay for it, and people aren't going to be giving them away for peanuts.
