I've been asked to try to catch a .com domain. Nothing too fancy, an unusual Arabic surname, so hopefully little interest.

I've backordered on a couple of the standard backordering sites, but wondered if anyone on here would be able/willing to have a go?

Most .coms don't drop they're auctioned off, have you looked into whether it will drop or not?

Grant

To be honest not sure. I don't deal much with .coms, how would I know? It's currently in its redemption period and the registrar seems to be a small-scale one with no sign of auction pages.

Most registrars are partnered with the auction houses, have a look at the 2 main places and see if you can find the domain listed and its status:

namejet.com ('prerelease' means it's being auctioned there)
snapnames.com ('expiring' means it's being auctioned there)

pending delete/deleting means it will drop.

Thanks for the info Grant. Not listed on either of those as yet. Okay, will look out for the pending delete/deleting status in the whois, don't think it's long away though if it is indeed going to reach this point.

I use pool.com too on pending deletes aswell as snapnames and namejet, Ive also heard of decent success with pheenix.com, a lot cheaper backorders too!
