domain creation date

hello.

i've recently registered a .org domain for a client who asked for the domain to be registered on a specific date as it had particular significance to their organisation. i completed the domain order and requested the specific creation date but the registrar failed to fulfil the request. they now say it isn't 'technically possible' to amend the creation date. are they fibbing?

The creation date does not change on transfer No.

The creation date is only created when you first register the domain name.

You can't change it either and I would tell the customer to stop being silly

out of interest, can a registrar sysadmin with access to an epp client edit any piece of data in a domain record? that would make it 'technically possible' to change the domain creation date.
