I have just put a back order on a domain that drops on the 25th.

My question is, if I have a back order in place at Domain Monster, do I stand just as much chance as anyone else in getting the domain?

DM are good but even so, if its a half decent name there's still only a small chance of them getting it for you. Drop catching is so competitive these days that they'll probably be fighting it out with 20+ catchers, assuming it's a reasonably good domain.

Just being caught by someone named something other than Rob is a bonus :p

I know what you mean, Taylor, Prime - them Rob's are all over the place.

Can't be referring to me as I've caught sod all this month :(.

Try and book it at as many public dropcacthers as possible, if available.

The more hooks in the river, the more chance you have of catching it.

So, at risk of repeating a million other posts on here, what drop catchers are there...

I've found...

caught.co.uk
dropcatcher.co.uk
dropsystem.co.uk

Are there any others who, like DM, do not charge in advance or ask you to buy credits?

How does it work exactly if multiple sites are waiting for the same domain to be available? Is it first back-order register wins? Or auction?

caught.co.uk now work on a credit system.

Also worth booking with these others:
dacr.co.uk
domainjunky.co.uk
domainwatchlist.co.uk

The first registrar to grab the domain gets it; first come first served.
