What are your views on the arrival of extensions like .la, .mx, .me, .im, .cc, .cm, .co and lately .uk.com, .us.com, .uk.net, .gb.com

Dont get me wrong, Domain Monster is my registrar of choice but the more I see them introduce these kinds of extensions the more I feel they are cashing in and losing their professional "expert in the industry" look. It actualy puts me off using their site to search for domain names when half of the extensions im not even interested in looking at.

I also dont like the advertising and massive pushing of these domain extensions as something great when in reality the people registering these domain names are speculators or lately with the ".co" typo squatters.

I have nothing against trying to make more money with new opportunities but is this going to far?

What are your views?

DM are my fav no doubt but it's very annoying having tons of extensions now amongst the few you actully want :-|

Re Domainmonster

Hi There i know i am pretty new here but i know these guys and

why dont you ask them if they can put a feature on there so you only get the results from the tld`s you want

they are very customer focused and dont rip clients off if they have forgoten to renew there domains unlike companies like names co
( cheapdomainnames.co.uk)

i recently forgot about a.org it went 14 days over there were other names
that were a few over so i rang up the tried to stiff me with a big increase on charges £20 a name so i got them dont to 9.99 yes i know i think that is to
much so they took the money , then emailed me the day after say
we noticed one of the domains was over 14 days renewal period
they refunded the amount they took for that domain and then wanted 65 pounds

you dont get that with domain monster i think i will be moving most of my com
.net .org over to them

so drop them a suggestion plus the economy is not great and maybe they need extra revenue streams

my 2 p worth :)

I noticed 123-reg redid their domain check page this week, now all the main gTLDs are in one section at the top with the rest of it going down the page.

Much better
