Hi guys,

Newbie here

Just got into this crazy world of Domains, a few questions if I may??

I've parked around 10 of them at Sedo, (is that good?), optimised them and they are now picking up 'unique' hits, one in particular has, up to date, had 8 hits in four days, however none of these have had any clickthrough activity (no $), in the worst case scenario, what sort of timescale could I expect for these to start gaining revenue, as I guess these Parked Domains have to improve organically?

Thanks for reading..

No, parked domains don't improve organically, as they won't get ranked in the search engines.

The whole "secret" of domain parking is to park strong popular keyphrase generics that get "natural" typein traffic.

The problem is that those sorts of names are long gone. So you're left with a few alternatives if you want to make money from domains:-
A) Spend money in the aftermarket to buy domains with natural type-in traffic
B) Register a few names, and build real sites on them, SEO and promote them, then incorporate Adsense and affiliate links
C) Register names and resell them

I would suggest that none of A)-C) are easy, so you should take your time and read read read everything you can get your hands on first, and then take things slowly and cautiously.

I think this could be the simplest, most effective post I have read since joining AcornDomains a few weeks back. Should be a "sticky" for all newcomers to read!

Thanks

I don't think anybody thinks of Sedo as a 'Parking Revenue Earner' for anything worthwhile. However, It is a profile to try and sell a domain
