Bingoapps.co.uk $5k, I think I wrote about "apps" names a few years ago on here. I registered a good few in 2008, missed some bloody good ones as well... some dam good ones.

Good forward thinking on your part. It's always a gamble to register a niche you think will become mainstream but the rewards should be there if it kicks off.

Back in 2008 the appstore had all the apps, android was non existent back then and I assumed one day it must open up and you could get apps from multiple sources. It has opened up a lot but may open up more in the future.
Up to now I have sold Taxiapp.co.uk last year for around £1200 and something else I can't remember for the life of me. HTML5 is a big threat to apps, but I think the app term will survive long past they cease being actual apps and more a generic name for the what they are, little icons on your device.
I was amazed by the price tag for webhosting.co.uk, so I visited to see what amazing things have been done with the site and was left a bit disappointed, although I can see there is a lot of content for the search engines. I assume this is for potential resale?
Looks like the buyer was Pawel Ciszewski in Florida. I see he has a past record for this kind of thing.

Indeed. There is a little bit of Psychology at play, In that a Blog-like site holds a visitors interest as source, because it portrays itself as a work of personal interest or dedication. (And of course, you can usually tell by the number of hyper-links in the text, that it isn't)
