Domains included in Forum Signatures

What's the view of including domain names in signatures (ala this test message)?

On the one hand I'm hearing it's good from an SEO point of view and on the other I'm reading that Google et al just ignore them.

That depends on how you go about it.

I'm fairly sure that if you are not out and out spamming forums for the links - forum sig links will be counted in Google. On the other hand the pages of the forum that are likely to have your sig link on them are likely to be the pages at the bottom of the structure of the site which may not have much page rank in their own right.

Page Rank and building links for SEO have no relationship.

Pagerank is little more than a gimmick these days, unless your in the business of selling links and the like.
