Where are they?

dropcatcher and detagged both down and no mails being answered.

:?

They have been down for the past 3 days i think.

Initially there was an error

PHP Critical error
Cannot connect to database

or something along them lines???

Dropcatcher is working normally (again) but the forum is still on vacation or in casualty dept.

Would be nice if Chris would answer my email!

been waiting the past few days for a name server change!

Oh well , @ least we got this forum :)

cheers Lee

Chris is around, he did a rapid retag for me yesterday, just sold a name caught by DC a few days ago.

still no detagged?

I've been trying to contact Chris and Ronnie for 10days now using 4 different mail addresses to fix my dropcatcher account... no response at all!

Hi folks. Ronnie is currently in the United States pulling 24 hour shifts at Harvard Medical School. I understand people's frustration at the detagged forum being temporarily offline due to a database corruption and Ronnie has assured me that he will fix it as soon as he gets a couple of hours sleep. The DropCatcher system is completely unaffected and continues to catch names aplenty!

The detagged forum is of course a completely free public service provided on a "best efforts" basis. It is not a paid service with an SLA and when I received an outraged email yesterday berating me for the "disgraceful downtime" of the forum it really was a bit silly!

The detagged forum will return shortly!

Thats good news i suppose, but arnt all forums free public services?, never heard of a pay per post forum :-)

If a website / company has a forum, then if the forum is down for an unacceptable amount of time then surely it doesnt reflect well on that company, people are bound to get a bit fraustrated... although i wouldnt go as far as writing an outraged email :-)))

.

well i think, if you cant fix a problem to a forum you run as soon as it happens then you might as well give up :)

Thats fine... but it's my dropcatcher account that's **** up... and I'm getting no joy in getting it sorted out.

:x

Well is Chris 's last name is TMAS then he may well be there after all

I've been trying to get a nameserver change for a domain caught by dropcatcher over the past few days with no success.

Can anyone tell me which is the most likely email address that I would have success with please.
