There seems to have been a few "ol TAGs" over last few days (sadly mine isn't one of them

Anyone care to give an opinion on why the playing field is level again?
Sorry db I have read the other thread and there were lots of theories or did i miss something?
Is it that the bug never existed officially and happens to have just fixed itself?

In my view, the drops weren't happening while Nom where moving so when they did drop there was more than 1 days worth to aim at, many days in one.

This gives more chance of catching something as even the best script cant be looking for every name all at once.

Certainly over the last 3 weeks I've seen quality names being caught by a wide range of catchers, first time that's happened in a long time except for when the Automaton was on a go slow.

Has the alleged bug that gave the previous catching champs their huge success rate now been 'fixed' ?

The secret is that Nominets system for choosing the random TAG of the day that will catch everything it requests, seemed to have fell over a few months ago so was not updating and was stuck on a particular TAG.

In fairness to others it now seems that the "stuck" TAG may have been excluded from the random daily selection, thereby giving others a chance. What you have to do is when your TAG is chosen as TAG of the day, you need to send the secret command to the DAC and this will again cause the daily random TAG selection to fall over and remain stuck on your TAG.

Keep it to yourself though
