Not sure this is the most appropriate place to post this, but I wondered if anyone has any opinion on whether an exact match domain works well (lowers costs) for PPC advertising?

I'm pretty sure it used to help reduce cost per click because of quality score thingy, but not sure if it makes a blind bit of difference today?

Anyone actually tested it out? Recently? Please? Thankyou.

imo it's a double-edged sword.

CTR is higher but part of that is repeat visitors coming back to your site, which costs you extra money if they keep clicking your ads to revisit, and you're paying competitive keyword bids for those, rather than just lower cost brand bids.

Very valid point, particularly from an e-comm PPC perspective, but less of an issue if the exact match domains are used for lead gen PPC.

Thank you for all of your opinions, food for thought...

2009 was a long time ago. Exact match domains, IMO, are still a good idea. But not for PPC sake, moreover for instant rapport with someone looking for the service/thing.
