Hi,

OK - so I'm about to exercise my rights to the .uk versions of my domains.

Just wondering what the most straightforward way to do this is?

For example, I own Directory.co.uk, but when I tried to register Directory.uk with 123-reg, it says it will try and pre-order it for me - gah!

Got to love 123-reg!

(and yes, I was logged in, so you'd assume they could see that I have rights to the .uk!)

Anyone else had success with 123-reg in this regard?

Thanks, Phil

A word of warning on that - I caught a domain for a client a few weeks ago. He transferred it to one of the companies who are part of the same group as 123-reg.

It then got transferred internally to the 123-reg TAG, they performed a registrant transfer to the person who backordered it, and then they claim they caught the domain within their network of TAGs. It took a while to eventually get the name back, but they were 100% in the belief they caught the domain.

If they register this for you, just hope it appears in your account and doesn't go to the person who backordered it!

How many domains? I think there's a promotion still on atm where registrars can do it for free, are 123 offering it for free?

I would probably just ask someone from here you trust to register them for you and release them to your usual registrar

I would do it for you if you want, assuming the free promotion is still on and you can't find anyone else
