so if the EMT name is of a CCL required sector then problems if .org.uk? Not quite following...

in their trading name it says

so nowt stopping using feeder sites to main site

you would surely want main site that business is done on as .co.uk or .com imo anyway

thanks for link

So would a site discussing basic bank accounts with affiliate links on an org.uk ext fall foul of this directive?

Aiden
Shouldn't do. You don't need a CCL for that - though they will try and tell you that you do.

Presumably it will be if you yourself are actually doing CCL activity and using a .org.uk as a means to capture leads. If you are an affiliate, in most cases you're not obligated to have a CCL?

.It might change some prices for them but maybe not in the right direction ...?

It is completely vague when it comes to affiliate links/banners/etc. The way I, and most others, read it, is if you are not storing any data and simply referring people to third party providers... you don't need a CCL.

I hope this is the case and I would imagine a number of financial houses will too!

I mean even the thread opener at Affiliate4u says:

For those involved in finance and require a CCL (or are considering it), this OFT document will be of interest:

My interpretation: If you currently don't need a CCL then you don't need to worry. However, I still think it's worth getting legal advice on the matter to be sure!
