Finding out about TM's?

Is there a decent free search tool people use to check a domain does not violate copyright of a trademark etc?

Any advice appreciated.

Hi, you can use the www.ipo.gov.uk site and go to Trademarks in the left hand menu, or go direct to the search for word/image marks page here http://www.ipo.gov.uk/tm/t-find/t-find-text/

Global worldwide checks all I believe? lots of other functions
Scroll down to Box “mark” (think it’s the forth one down) in corresponding box input word you’re looking to check

I use http://www.start.biz/trade_marks/ also has area's for company names, (UK)

Thanks. Did a search, it seems they have managed to cover everything (sales, services, advice and information relating to both of the above) in one class, which shouldn't be right, so will dig deeper.

This is starting to get complicated

I take it you all avoid company names and anything with a TM etc?
