I recently read a BBC report about commuters and sales of folding bikes on the increase

"Sales shift gear

They've noticed the change as sales of "folders" are on the rise in the UK - about 75,000 of the 3.5 million bikes sold last year. Market leader Dahon says its sales are growing by about a third each year. UK-based Brompton says it's unable to keep pace with demand."

So I thought it would be a good idea to make a start on a folding bike website.

http://www.foldablebikes.co.uk

Here's what I have so far, no revenue yet, still working on it and haven't promoted it yet.

Any thoughts, comments welcome

i like the idea, its a very niche market.

you need to get META tags in your code for keywords and description (search through the forum or Google it for more info).

Plus get some adsense on it!!! Will help pay for the domain reg etc

Add a links page and get building reciprocals with bike forums etc

good luck with it

My thoughts:

- More calls to action needed, e.g. "Buy this folding bike".

- Make the images linked to the cycle store.

- Folding bikes are also popular with the yachting set so think about that angle.

- Pray petrol keeps rising and you're sorted.

I was thinking along the idea that I should hold back on some of the advertising as I'm starting the site.

I'm thinking people might be more willing to link back/contribute reviews if the site doesn't look a page full of ads.
